You open the TV on the news and you can hear about theft, murder, robbery, and other similar factors. You hear about how the homeless on the street try to earn as much money to at least fill their stomachs for the day. You see these things happen every day, whether you want to or not. We are part of a society where poverty and crime are so common that most of us are probably jaded about them. We try to help the charity causes and put more locks. But that doesn’t really help stop it. Poverty and crime are common issues that we should actually be dealing with instead of just living with them. It’s easy to say, but nothing is really easy to do. Sure it would feel nice to be able to give a few coins to the person on the street, but it never goes too far for that person. Instead of giving aid to charity, it would be better to actually try to help able-bodied folk to get a job, have programs to get them back up on their feet and contribute more to society. It’s an action that can help the poor strive more in their own lives.
Crime rates go up and down all the time, and it is also up to you and everyone else to be more vigil about it. Hear the news, know what is going on in your area so you can be more vigil in what you can protect against. Sometimes information dissemination can help a lot of people and at the same time curb down crime rates. It’s not only up to the police and other people it’s mostly up to the individuals to make a difference when it comes to helping our society fight off poverty and crime.
